As of now everyone who has asked has received a MetalVPS account. May I please suggest that we briefly pause adding new accounts so we can see how everything goes? I am especially curious whether the idea of everyone posting here in this thread will work, or not.

If you are late to the party, but want an account, please ask. The pause just means it might be a brief time before additional accounts are provisioned. If you have an urgent request, maybe we can make an exception.

Thank you for your warning. I appreciate your kind intentions. The wonderful MJJ people from here at Nodeseek were very active and did many very smart and impressive things on my previous Alpine Linux server in Fremont. We had a lot of fun! I hope to have a lot more fun and to learn a lot more during this second round.

There has to be a way. I do not believe that there is no good way to install Docker!

I heard about potential abuse through Docker. I heard that letting people use Docker is the equivalent of giving them root on the server.

I am guessing an unprivileged user could install Docker inside qemu, or with proot or chroot, or inside LXC?

Alternatively, maybe it might be possible to run directly on the server Node whatever you wanted to run inside Docker?

But I do not know anything about Docker. I imagine it might be fun to have a server that was just Docker. All the users simply could upload or otherwise provision their Docker containers. Easy.

In English grammar class I could ask, "What is the antecedent of "this?" Does "this" mean "install Docker on the server" or maybe "set up a whole server similar to MetalVPS," or something else? 😃
