@Not-Oles #289 Sir, I'm unfortunately to tell you that raid recipes are only supported by Debian series and Redhat series, AlpineLinux is a very lightweight re-distributed version of Linux and it doesn't support some advances functions, we usually see it on dockers, few of people install it on a dedicated environment but it's a great system to dd Windows and Ubuntu, because dd can only download and expand dd image files on one disk, so raid recipes for Windows and Ubuntu may not supported in current and future too.
If you are interested on how does AlpineLinux and dd process implement, here is an article which is also written by me, you can translate the following to English to get more details:
https://www.nodeseek.com/post-9558-1
「The technical details of developing the installation of Ubuntu 22.04 and later versions and my views and evaluations on "native network installation" and "dd installation"」
Thank you for the wonderful article at https://www.nodeseek.com/post-9558-1 !
I also saw additional recent commits to InstallNET. Congrats for your continuing work on the script!
Maybe there might be at least some support for RAID in Alpine Linux. Since few people using your script might want RAID support for Alpine, I think it is excellent for the script to do only what the users want.
Happily I can report successfully testing your wonderful script on a dedicated server with two NVMe drives. Going from Fedora Rawhide to Debian 12 seemed to work fine! Then I used the script a second time to move the same double NVMe server from Debian 12 to Alpine. This also worked great!
Last year we had a lot of fun running Alpine on a dedicated server at Hurricane Electric's FMT facility. If interested, you can check the Free Alpine Linux Shell Accounts thread at Low End Spirit. There were great guys from here at Nodeseek on that server!
Maybe I am going to set up a server with various partitions and filesystems, ext4, btrfs, and RAID 0 and 1. I want to compare the read/write speeds. I want to learn a little about btrfs. Maybe I will use Blivet to set up the partitions.
@Not-Oles #289 Sir, AlpineLinux doesn't support raid.
@leitbogioro #281
https://hostloc.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=1166099
